Portal provides an excellent basis for defining and controlling Service
Level Agreements. The ICT system administration department receives
fundamental data consisting of clear graphs based on their own environment.
This provides practical insight into the infrastructures performance and
bottlenecks. The management can take decisions on new investments that can
be validated based on facts. There is also an escalation setting that will
alert the management when if SLA will not be realised. In addition to all
sorts of queries regarding system performance, EControl Portal generates
automatic reports every day, week or month.
Monitoring
In
addition to monitoring SBC, EControl Portal can be used to monitor the
entire ICT infrastructure. This is an important feature because the SBC farm
is an integrated element of ICT. Part of its functioning depends on the
functioning of network and back-end processes. EControl Portal supports all
standard Internet protocols and SNMP. Should the customer also need to
monitor systems or parameters that are not supported by protocols, you can
always use the Portal’s agent services. EControl Portal can be organised
into groups. The customer is free to create any group he desires. Based on
the groups you can set the defined monitoring functions as well as the level
of accessibility and the escalation levels desired.
Reporting resources
EControl
Portal can perform an enormous number of checks with a minimum load to the
system itself. The logs are very small. It also enables the customer to make
any selection instantly with only three clicks of the mouse. Using the
report generator you can define exactly what automatic reports you want
EControl Portal to generate and when.
Troubleshooting
and pilots
EControl
Portal is also an excellent tool to use in a pilot project. It permanently
measures the resources the SBC environment is using, thus providing a good
foundation for scaling and tuning the final production environment. The
following feature is especially suitable for troubleshooting: logging the
last 300 checks made. This will immediately reveal any bottlenecks. It is a
great tool for ICT specialists when resolving systems calamities. Analyses
can be made within seconds. The results are presented in clear graphs and
statistics, providing a real-time foundation for extra resources or any
measurements needed.
Escalation Management
EControl
Portal offers a very broad range of escalation modes: to any person, any
organisation, any service window, and any group of systems. It also offers
tools to the system administrators such as service testing, alert filtering
and alert testing.
